This drawing has a festive feel in reference to the ‘ghost month’, which is celebrated in the artist’s home region in Taiwan. All the spirits are released from a temple near her childhood home and linger for a month. She has interweaved this old local myth to her interest in western science and cloning, re-imaging a place where all the beings are presented in one world.

Commissioned by QUAD, Derby for BEYOND, as part of their Supernatural season.
