Following A Sheep, 2009

Live performance

‘Following A Sheep’ marked the first time that Milee the Sheep had interacted with live animals in her work. Following A Sheep saw Milee mimic the actions of two Jacob sheep over a duration of two days. Jacob sheep date back to the biblical era, their horns and the spotty coats can cause people to mistake them for goats. The appearance of the sheep questions peoples common conceptions of what typical sheep look like, raising notions of species and evolution.

Part of the Shift-Time Festival in Shrewsbury to cerebrate the Darwin’s 200 years birthday. Commissioned by Shropshire County Council.
